As lockdown eases, Newhaven Festival are offering an opportunity to come to the Bandstand on Denton Island and enjoy learning more about some of our Sussex gin, fizz, wine & beer producers. Plus Boozy sorbet & a mocktail/cocktail bar! There will be the opportunity to chat to the small batch gin producers that surround us. Including Ditchling Gin, Harley House Distillery, Madame Jennifer Tom Cat & Generation Distillery. Plus have the chance to buy and try glasses of local wines both still and sparkling. Including Tickerage Wine, Plumpton WIne, Highdown Vineyard & Court Garden Vineyard. Enjoy a fabulous gin & tonic, a mocktail expertly mixed by PYP Cocktails and sample delicious non alcoholic Folkingtons juices. Plus Abyss Brewery and The Sloe Drinking Company who will have some local craft beers from Hastings and beyond. We will have some experts to tell you more, show you how and offer advise. Come and buy a special celebratory bottle of Sussex sparkling to take home, along with one of our delicious picnics in a box by the Garden Kitchen Company. (these must be ordered in advance via e:thegardenkitchenco@gmail.com 07963209610) Mamoosh bakery will be there with fabulous treats to eat or take away as well as mama C's gourmet burgers, Soul Kitchen, Mialls boozy sorbet, coffee at 33 with delicious small batch coffee plus Portuguese Custard Tarts. Local makers will also be selling their work. And music on the bandstand! All producers are happy to take pre orders that can be collected from our 'click & collect' station if you prefer not to participate! - More information and a full list of producers and how to contact them will be coming soon on our website www.newhavenfestival.co.uk, instagram @baratthebandstand & facebook: newhaven festival and also newhaven bandstand. **OVER 18's ONLY** Please consider your health & wellbeing and come prepared to enjoy the space and consider others. We recommend bringing a mask and your own sanitiser (we will have lots too!). Please bring ID if you are under 25. Conscious of current guidelines, all neccesary precautions will be in place to maintain a safe and relaxed environment. We will have a list of ticketholders and their email addresses to create a track & trace list. We will have a'click & collect ' option for those who want to pre order from producers and arrive to just collect. There will be a one way system, friendly crew to assist and help us all remember to socially distance and on site loos. Plus lots of hand sanitiser! Our producers will provide glasses that will be used singly and placed by visitors back in collection bins to avoid contact. Sessions are two hourly to ensure safety. There will be a 30 minute gap between sessions to clear the site in a relaxed way and prepare for the next group. All ticket holders will be entered into a draw to win a tasting tour of Tickerage Vineyard for 4 worth £120!

Road Directions

Newhaven is easily accessed along the coast from Brighton on the A259 or from lewes on the A27/26 or C7.** PLEASE NOTE** THERE WILL BE NO PARKING ON DENTON ISLAND.We have 3 disabled parking spaces per session on site. Please email newhavenfestival.sussex@gmail.com if you would like to book one. Booked on a first come, first served basis.Dacre Road car park is a multi storey located in the town centre. Lower Place car park is also accessed from the ring road and also has a bus hub and public loos. Bay Vue car park is located by the river, near The Ark Pub and Bickerstaffs. All are a short walk from the island.

Public Transport Directions

No. 12 or 12A Coaster buses travel along the coast from Brighton to Eastbourne every 10 minutes.These stop at Lower Place, just near the bandstand and also Newhaven Town Station. Which is close by. The train from Lewes is only 10 minutes. 5 minutes from Seaford and 30 mins from Brighton.
