Daoiri Farrell, Lewes Saturday Folk Club

About

Dublin-born Daoirì is a fine singer of Irish traditional song & turns the bouzouki into a force of nature, with a range from powerful to subtle & always in sympathy with the song. He began singing in the famous Góilin Singers Club & has accompanied Christy Moore, Dónal Luny, Martin Hayes, Dennis Cahill, Arty McGlynn & many more. In 2013 he won the All Ireland Champion Singer Award at the Fleadh in Co. Derry.

Daoiri will give us two forty-five minute spots and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience performing a song or tune if they wish.

During the day Daoiri leads an all-day workshop on bouzouki for enthusiastic beginners & intermediate players.

Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in.

We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you £5 off an evening when admission is £5 or more. It's £12 tonight. Advance tickets are available from the club and its website.
