Oktoba is the project of Alt-folk singer songwriter Chris Athorne. Based in Brighton, Chris's music speaks of life, love and everything in-between. Drawing inspiration from Damien Rice, Bon Iver and Kurt Vile. Oktoba's latest album 'What a Life', released September 2022, is a collection of Chris's most personal tracks to date and has been acclaimed to be his best work yet. Written in a time of becoming a father and the emotional road it takes to get there. It reflects on a time of age and change, moving from youth to adult. With songs of reflection in tough times and the care and love we cherish from those closest to us. 'What A Life' is a real example to the honest depths and quality of Chris as a songwriter. Oktoba's music has featured over multiple episodes of Love Island, Amazon Prime's popular series Clarkson's Farm and Spotify curated playlists. As well wide support from BBC introducing, Amazing Radio and Sofar Sounds around the world. Support is from Lewes based Hui Hue, who is known for her deeply emotional and unique lyrics.
