Discover the joy of creating with clay in our hands-on, inclusive ceramics and pottery course. Perfect for both beginners and those looking to refresh their skills, this 4-week journey will introduce you to various hand-building techniques, experience the potter's wheel, guided by Jess.
Course Overview:
Week 1: Slab Building Learn the fundamentals of slab building as we craft vases or planters using this versatile technique.
Week 2: Pinch & Sgraffito Experiment with pinch pottery to create small bowls, mugs, or candle holders, and explore the decorative art of sgraffito.
Week 3: Coiling & Potter's Wheel Discover the traditional coiling method by starting a coiled bowl, which we'll refine in the next session. Plus, get a chance to try the potter's wheel.
Week 4: Coiling & Finishing Touches Wrap up your projects, refine your coil pots, and make final adjustments before they're ready for firing. Throughout the course, you'll have opportunities to decorate and slip your creations.
