30th October, Farleys House & Gallery near Chiddingly, East Sussex (about 20 minutes from Lewes) is hosting a free family day, and we'd love to welcome children and their families to join us for a creative, fun-filled experience with 'A is for Ant'.
Bringing to life the concept of a children's alphabet book, 'A is for Ant' is the short film debut by renowned British photographer Jack Davison (he's just shot the cover for British Vogue!) in collaboration with Oscar-winning production and costume designer Shona Heath.
Screened outdoors on a three-sided 'Ant Bus', this immersive cinematic experience is bookended by a short theatrical performance with puppetry to entertain the whole family. After the film, a collage workshop by resident illustrator Hatty Staniford will inspire audiences to create their own worlds.
We're thrilled to be hosting the 'Ant Bus' during its UK tour over half term and to extend the invitation to Farleys' first free family day to you. This event is part of our celebration of 75 years since Farleys became a hub for avant-garde artists in 1949. This is our penultimate open day of 2024 and a fantastic opportunity to see Farleys before we close on what has been a remarkable year following the release of Kate Winslet's 'LEE' in cinemas last month. Families are also welcome to explore our Sculpture Garden and exhibitions.
