About

Crime fiction on the Normandy coast - Discover crime writers: Maurice Leblanc (Arsene Lupin series), Michel Bussi (Black Water Lilies) and Georges Simenon (Commisaire Maigret series) and more!

Crime fiction, or 'le polar' to give it its French name, is the bestselling literary form in France today, and the Normandy coast has had more than its share of fictional crimes and investigations.

A talk in English by Bill Alder, author of several books on French detective novels and former lecturer at the Open University.  In this talk you will learn about the origins and the development of detective stories set in Normandy, from the late 19th century to the present day.

Organised by Alfriston & Cuckmere Valley Twinning Association.
