Andy is a soulful and technically outstanding player, warm, joyful and emotive, almost reinventing his instrument.  He is a superb accompanist and sensitive musical partner.  He has written many fine tunes which have become classics.  Grounded in the English tradition and influenced by the French and Quebecois, he has played with Leveret, Blowzabella, Chris Wood, Kate Rusby, John McCusker, Martin Simpson, June Tabor, Sting, and even The Who. We will start the workshop with basic tune (English session tunes) playing and gradually introduce more advanced techniques on both the right and left hands. We will also look at some exercises to improve your bass end playing. Teaching will be mainly by ear.
