Verity Babbs is the author of The History of Art in One Sentence (Bloomsbury, 2025), and through a blend of storytelling, comedy, and art history, Verity and some soon to be announced special guests will uncover the fun and absurdity that has shaped the art world.

This event is a part of Farleys' 2026 Surrealist Week - celebrating the enduring legacy of Surrealism and its continuing influence on art, photography, literature, and culture.

Leave the A22 by the BP garage at Golden Cross and travel just under a mile until you reach a T junction. Turn right here towards Horsham, Hailsham and Heathfield and you will find Farleys located on the right-hand side. There is a free car park at Farleys for visitors.
Farleys is not currently easily accessed by public transport. Buses to the area are very limited, particularly on Sundays.
East Sussex County Council is now running a Flexibus in the county which may be useful to those trying to reach Muddles Green on Thursdays and Fridays. Find out more here
There are regular trains to Lewes from London and towns and cities in Sussex.
Taxis are available at Lewes station and the journey to Farleys takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately £25 each way.
