About

Take a step back in time this February half term and join us for an exciting week of free family activities at Anne of Cleves House! From dragons to dressing-up, crafting to colouring, each day will have different arts and crafts on offer, games and activity trails.

Crown Making – Saturdays 10th and 17th February

Craft your very own royal crown, fit for Queen Anne of Cleves herself, or maybe even her husband, the notorious King Henry VIII. Decorate a regal crown with colouring and sparkly accessories!

Knights & Dragons – Tuesday 13th, Thursday 15th and Sunday 18th February

Decorate shields, coat of arms, and dragon masks. Bring your uniqueness and creativity to the battlefield by designing your own shield and coat of arms! You can also create your own dragon mask to add some fearsome flare for the rest of your visit to Anne of Cleves House. After your visit, why not head up to the top of the tower at Lewes Castle and see how your shield looks atop a Norman fortress?

Make a Tudor Bookmark – Wednesday 14th and Friday 16th February

Whether you're a brilliant bookworm or just starting to explore the world of reading, you can create your very own bookmark to take home. Explore Tudor patterns, colour and maybe include historic symbols like dragons or crowns.

Plus, on each of these fun-filled days, families can stay busy with:

– Activity trails – Colouring-in – Dress up as a Tudor – Indoor and outdoor games – Selfie competition, with a chance to win a free family ticket to a Sussex Past property!

All activities are FREE in addition to general admission.

Why not make a day of it and visit Lewes Castle too with our Half Term Special? Families can visit both historic sites from just £26 with our combined ticket, at a special discounted rate just for Half Term! Family 1 – (1 adult and up to 3 children) – £26 Family 2 – (2 adults and up to 4 children) – £35
