John Kirkpatrick (www.johnkirkpatrick.co.uk) is a superb singer, great writer of songs and tunes, fine dancer and the best English squeezer bar none.  One of the great solo acts on the folk scene, he has played with the Albions, Steeleye Span, Brass Monkey, Band of Hope and many more. 

Since 2018, in his home town of Bishop's Castle, John has been running a community carol singing session, initially based on what they do around Sheffield, but increasingly including Shropshire carols old and new, in glorious four-part harmony.  This is a chance to sing your socks off and explore a different strand of this ever-popular repertoire.  Teaching will be by ear but dots will be available for people who find them helpful.

Provisional Timetable 10.45 Registration and coffee; please order lunch at the bar (refreshments not included). 11.00 Warm up your voice with a couple of rounds, choose your harmony line & let rip. 12:30 Lunch 13.30 Look at more carols, and think about using your voice at different pitches. 15.00 Tea/coffee break 15.15 The difference between singing for fun & singing for performances, and a final run through today's songs. 16.45 Finish
