Folk musicians Jon Loomes and Tom Kitching

About

Jon describes himself as 'primarily famous for playing guitar in a variety of cruel and unusual tunings'. He sings and also plays cittern, mandolin, English concertina, bagpipes and hurdy gurdy. Tom is an exciting and inventive fiddler, playing mainly English music and encompassing elements of many other traditions. He is also an entertaining author, writing about his musical travels in this country and recording CDs to illustrate the books.

Jon and Tom will give us two 45-minute spots and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience performing a song or tune if they wish. Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in.

During the day Tom Kitching leads a fiddle workshop from 10:45 - 16:45. Places £45 (2 under-25s £22). Email valmaigoodyear@aol.com to reserve places and bring cash on the day.

We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you £5 off an evening when admission is £5 or more. It's £12 tonight. Email valmaigoodyear@aol.com to reserve tickets and bring the right money in cash on the night.
