About

A fascinating day to commemorate and learn from the Lewes Floods of October 2000, with talks, displays and activities for all ages.

Try your hand at flood-mapping, build the Lego Flood House, take in a water-themed puppet show from local puppeteers Wishworks and stroll through the Lewes Floods Exhibition of local people's pictures, films, audio memories and more from the 2000 floods.  Plus stalls with practical ideas for making our homes, streets and neighbourhoods more flood resilient, and talks by local people about their experiences of the floods.

Then at 2pm, take a seat for the Lewes Floods Public Meeting with a panel of local experts and flood professionals, chaired by former Lewes MP Norman Baker, answering your questions on what flood risk Lewes faces now – and what the town needs to do to manage it.

This event is free and open to everyone.
