Children in armour in Lewes

About

Take a trip back in time this summer with Medieval Mayhem at Lewes Castle & Museum, a great family day out in Sussex.

Every Thursday during the school holidays, from 27th July to 31st August, we're hosting a range of free, fun activities taking place across the site including an activity trail, dressing up and games.

Try on real armour and explore artefacts from times gone by. Have a go at arts and craft activities, colouring in and more.

Explore the Sussex Museum of Archaeology, which is included in admission to the castle, which houses hundreds of fascinating items from around Sussex, from Stone Age axe heads to Bellarmine Jugs to keep witches away.

Lewes Castle & Museum is open from 10am to 5pm, with activities taking place from 11am to 3pm.

All ages are welcome.

Booking information: Activities included in general admission to the castle and museum site, with donations encouraged.

Pre-booking is not required but if you'd like to book in advance, tickets can be booked at www.sussexpast.co.uk
