Megan (East Anglia) & Mossy (Lincolnshire) are young performers who sing and play traditional and newer music, blending freshness and vigour with a deep understanding of their roots. Mossy plays fiddle, Anglo concertina and one-row melodeon. Megan plays table harmonium. Mossy recently directed a brilliant and thoughtful production of Peter Bellamy's The Transports at Whitby Folk Week in which he and Megan sang lead roles, with top performers including John Kirkpatrick, Brian Peters and The Wilsons.
Megan & Mossy will give us two 45-minute spots and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience performing a song or tune if they wish.
Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in.
During the day Megan & Mossy will lead a vocal harmony workshop (10:45 - 16:15, £45, 2 under-25-year-olds £22). More details soon. We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you £5 off an evening when admission is £6 or more. It's £12 tonight.
Access is by stairs with a handrail on each side. Assistance dogs only, please. Elephant & Castle, White Hill, Lewes BN7 2DJ.
