Quayside Arts Collective: Moments Gathered

A new creative group has emerged in East Sussex and is set to hold their first exhibition in August 2026. The Quayside Arts Collective, a group of 13 established and emerging mixed‑media artists from Seaford, Lewes and the surrounding area, will hold their exhibition 'Moments Gathered' at the popular BN9 Studio in Newhaven, East Sussex this August.  

Rooted in the everyday rhythms of life and the dramatic landscape offered by East Sussex and the South Downs, the collective brings together a range of diverse artists whose work spans painting and experimental mixed media.

Although this is their first exhibition under the Quayside Arts Collective umbrella, the artists are no strangers to exhibiting their work across the county and beyond.  Members have previously shown work at successive Artwave festivals, the Sussex Contemporary, the Crypt Gallery in Seaford, and Newhaven's BN9 Studio, with several having had previous work shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2025.  The majority of artists last showed their works in November 2025 as part of the successful Brasspoint Collective, again at the BN9 Studio, which drew strong local interest at the time.

The exhibition is free to attend and open to everyone, featuring works by Allison Welburn, Angela Race, Carole Hunter, Gill Blackwood, Jo Kemp, Lesley Faux, Lindy Dunbar, Liz Newns, Lucy Lean, Margot Little, Penny Lower, Ruth De Mallet Morgan and Sarah Roebuck.
