Rattle on the Stovepipe are Dave Arthur (voice, banjo, guitar, melodeon) Pete Cooper (voice, fiddle, viola) and Dan Stewart (guitar, banjo, mandolin ). They play mainly US Old-Time music with grace, good humour, dazzling musicianship and great affection. It's a measure of their excellence that one of their greatest fans is Shirley Collins. Rattle on the Stovepipe will give us two forty-five minute spots and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience performing a song or tune if they wish. During the day Pete Cooper leads an all-day fiddle workshop and Dan Stewart leads an all-day clawhammer banjo workshop. Both workshops are £45. Email valmaigoodyear@aol.com for more details. Bring the right money in cash on the day. Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in. We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you £5 off an evening when admission is £5 or more. It's £15 tonight. Please email valmaigoodyear@aol.com to reserve tickets and bring the right money in cash.
