Connect with your creativity and flow state in this mindful Suminagashi Japanese ink marbling workshop set in the serene surroundings of the Monk's House garden and led by Lisa Ibbetson.
Enjoy a personalised visit to Virginia Woolf's bedrooom to see her handbound Shakespeare collection - a mindful tool she used when experiencing headaches.
The workshop will then begin with a welcome meditation and a brief history of Suminagashi and it's origins and philosophy. Lisa will then guide you through techniques, experimentation and play to make several marbled monoprints of the Suminagashi at chosen points during the session. These decorative prints are yours to keep.

Monk's House is situated in Rodmell, near Lewes. Rodmell is accessed via the C7 or Piddinghoe road, linked by Kingston road fro lewes, and Lewes road from Newhaven. Park in the National Trust car park at the bottom of The Street, Rodmell.
The 123 operates from Lewes Station to Newhaven station, and vice versa stopping near The Abergavenny Arms in Rodmell. Visit Compass-travel.co.uk for timetables.Train from Lewes to Southease, there is then a 20-30 minute walk through Southease village and into Rodmell. Please refer to maps for this path.
