Launched to wide acclaim in 2025, Sussex Craft Week celebrates the region's excellence in craftsmanship and its place as the hub of the contemporary craft revival. The second edition takes place 20-28 June, with an ambitious programme of over 60 events in venues across Sussex.
Events in and around Lewes include: a group exhibition of seven leading craft practitioners exploring 'colour and unnatural colour in craft', presented by Kathie Murphy at Continuum studios; and The Sussex Guild celebrate their 20th anniversary with an exhibition of current and past members' work at their shop on Southover Road. Farleys House & Gallery in Chiddingly showcase the work of artists inspired by forests, with works in a range of media, and the Summer Solstice Makers' Fair opens at Middle Farm on 20 + 21 June.
Craft courses include a day with Ruby Taylor (Native Hands) in weaving foraging baskets from wild English rush at Dernwood Farm, and midsummer life drawing in a forest garden, with Silvia MacRae Brown.
