Throughout February, The Depot Cinema in Lewes will be showing three classic films featuring lovers on the run: Bonny & Clyde, The Getaway and True Romance. On Valentine’s night, they will be serving a special menu created by their chef for all those romantic couples.

Situated in the village of Ditchling, The Bull is a traditional, country pub with style. If you want to treat your loved one to a fine meal in a relaxed setting, The Bull is offering a special Valentine’s meal with a glass of Ridgeview ‘Fitzrovia’ sparkling wine on arrival followed by three courses and finishing with house-made truffles. If you don’t want to venture back out into the cold after dinner, you can book into one of their individually styled, boutique rooms for the night. TEA FOR TWO

If your loved one has a sweet tooth why not indulge them with a spot of afternoon tea at the Proud Country House. This is a Grade 1 listed house built in 1722 boasting beautiful architecture and decor. In the winter months, their wood fires will keep you toasty as you nibble cakes and sip tea. You can also add a glass of Prosecco or a bottle of Champagne to make your Valentine’s treat even more romantic, The house is closed on the 14th but is open the following weekend, perfect for those working on the actual day. Booking ahead is advised.

ROMANTIC SEA VIEWS

If you like to dine out somewhere with impressive scenery, The View in Seaford is a great restaurant and bar up on the cliffs at Seaford Head. Situated beside Seaford Head Golf Course, you can enjoy your meal overlooking the stunning views across Seaford Bay. This year they have created a special Valentine’s menu including meat, fish and a vegetarian option. Booking ahead is advised.
