In Car-Free

Visitors wishing to explore the creativity of the Bloomsbury Group in Sussex can now travel by bus to Charleston Farmhouse and Berwick Church. Compass Buses have rebranded their 125 service “The Bloomsbury Route” in honour of our famous former residents.

The bus departs from Lewes Bus Station and travels to Eastbourne via Ringmer, Glynde, Firle, Charleston driveway, Berwick and Alfriston – check out the timetable here . At the weekends, Cuckmere buses run the service, and travel all the way up to the farmhouse – perfect for families and visitors with limited mobility.

It’s the sustainable way to travel around this historic part of the district, and even better, Charleston are offering ‘Green Traveller’ house, garden and exhibition ticket discounts to Bloomsbury Route users.
